Collecting Tesco Deals Tokens for MFI? Warning: ending soon!

What's this about?
Regular MoneySavers will already have it etched on their brains that you should never, ever, ever spend Tesco Clubcard vouchers in-store. Instead quadruple their value by redeeming them from Tesco's special Clubcards Deals brochure. It includes shopping vouchers, magazine subscriptions, gifts and days out.
What's happening?
Many MoneySavers use their Deals to get furniture at MFI but sadly the scheme's being phased out next year so if you've been planning to trade in your vouchers at MFI read on.
From 1 March the total cost of your MFI order must be over £500 (it's currently £250) so it's worth checking your Deals statement now to make sure you'll reach that level in time. If not, use them for something else.
Then, MFI is leaving the Deals brochure completely on 30 April so anyone collecting for MFI vouchers must have ordered the vouchers and made their purchases by then.

Thanks for this Martin, I have been avidly saving my vouchers for over 2 years now and by the next clubcard mailing I will have reached and exceeded the target amount that I need for my new kitchen, (which is a good job really now that this MFI deal is closing).
There are lots of other things I can spend my vouchers on so I think a family holiday will be next on the list !

Does anyone know if Tesco are going to be going into another deal with a Homewares store? They have already come out of buyagift where I got some great spa days, and now, just as I save up for a new fridge, they cancel this! Pah!0 -
I was umming n arring as to wether to get MFI vouchers but I was always a bit wary reading about MFI and how it wasn't doing as well as it used to...I didn't want it to close just as they took my money. What if there IS no PMS and this is just my personality0

Tesco deals aren't half as good as they used to be no more wine deals/coach travel etc
good for RAC/meals/mags but not much else now0 -

One warning for converting to MFI (as I did), they will only accept 15 vouchers per order, therefore, the maximum amount you can spend in each transaction is £1500. I did two separate orders to purchase my kitchen.
I have also just converted two quarters of clubcard vouchers into virgin holiday vouchers and had to spend a grand total of £83 (in hard cash) for a week all inclusive to the caribbean (for two people). Going in 9 weeks time and I can't wait!
Long live tesco clubcard vouchers!

Thanks for this Martin. I was planning on putting about a grand's worth of vouchers towards a new kitchen next year. I'll be sure to get it done sooner rather than later now!
MFI haven't been in it that long either. I can only presume the companies involved are losing too much cash by being part of Tesco Deals. I was only using them for the kitchen as Cresta have now left the scheme, so no more luxury trips to Disneyland Paris courtesy of Tesco
Deals are definitely going downhill0 -
Thanks for the tip-off. We were planning to convert £150-worth of Tesco vouchers into £600 at MFI on an bathroom suite next year. Fore-warned is fore-armed.0

hi - could someone please clarify this as it has been niggling at me for awhile: if I get items to the value of £250 at MFI and spend my vouchers worth £220 then pay balance of £30 or would I have to buy £570 worth of items minus my £220 then pay balance of £250 (I know its silly question but want to find out before I order as never ordered/used deals before) - many thanksComp wins 2013:160 finish quantum tabs, 2xtickets private screening of prisoners(Jake n Hugh 2)

Oh yes they are - we've just booked a week in Fuerteventura at Xmas with ours! (via Cosmos Winter Sun)
You need to be careful though, they are only redeemable against full price complete packages (not hotel only, not flight only, and most brochure prices are 'discounted'), but the young chap on the phone at Cosmos was very helpful in steering us towards their better deals. :beer:0
