Looking for recommendations for Vacuum cleaner

I haven't the faintest idea which section I should post this in so apologies if this is wrong, but I'm looking to buy a new vacuum.
I can't afford a Dyson and I'm looking for something in the 50-60 pound price range.
Several years ago I bought a no name bagless and it was CFU so I gave it away. I replaced it with a cheap standard vacuum and that wasn't much better (but at least it was cheap) and I now need to replace that.
I was going to buy a decent branded bagged vacuum but looking around the shops I see that theses are few and far between. Most of the brands have gone over to their version of bagless.
But having been caught once before I am reluctant to buy one of these without recommendation. (After all the Dyson technology is still in patent and three times the price so there must be some technological difference).
So does anyone have any experiences of branded (non Dyson) bagless vacuums in the above price range that they can share. I'm particularly interested in cylinder type.
TIA

spend a bit more money and get a red henry.
does what it says on the tin. and very reliable.
dysons are dire.Get some gorm.0 -
I agree with Ormus. A Henry every time and it will last decades.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Another vote for Henry - he really is good!"I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0

SEBO X4 for the house and red henry for all and I mean all the other crap jobs:D0

I concur with all the above.
Sebo, Miele, or Numatic (Henry) are all very good cleaners.0 -
I've also been looking for a bagged cylinder vacuum recently too, I seem to have read hundreds of reviews
. I had the same sort of budget as you but I have decided to spend a teeny bit more and go for a panasonic MC-CG691. It seemed to get good reviews and seemed like everything I wanted, plus is a better shape for me to store than the henries (and I was scared of them when I was little!). I think it's £76 at amazon, just waiting to get paid again to buy it. 0
