Twitter advice - are we spammers?

I enter a lot of twitter comps - @jennyp19 and have won a few things - got an ipod shuffle last week. I have noticed that a lot of people are tweeting comps that have already finished. Thats the one thing I try & do, check tweets to see if they have ended by seeing if they have announced a winner. I never thought about putting a photo up, so I suppose I better had!!! Also a lot get dragged along by comps that are from the US - try & check where they are from.
I wish there was some way that we could distinguish whether they want one tweet, or loads - hopefully someone will come up with something
Its a shame they don't allow a thread on here to just drop the twitter comps on to - no messing around with dates ending or organising them etc - it takes far too much time to add them, and they are usually only short time anyway. Same with Facebook ones. Most people figure out what is happening with them after a few goes - I know I thought there was more to it than there is.
Anyway, back to comping - because of Tweeting, I'm 20 + pages behind on here!!!!0 -
What's the best way to find all these twitter comps? I've only seen a few posted on the main board.0

Yes - but after they said all that they awarded the ipod to someone who just did comps apparently!
They are in the USA anyway so if you win from them you will have to pay customs charges.
Ahh I am not too sure who did win, It was simply the first competition to make me feel guilty for entering lots of competitions on twitter.
(Thats why I try to avoid blog ones, they appear to be for people who read/subscribe regularly - their fans etc)
The Pricerunner one is also one entry per unique RT - thats what made me post this thread as I have seen a few others RTing the same entry tweet lots, they may not have read the T&C.
I also go through to the company and try to RT the original message to make sure the competition is still running, I made that mistake once before and the company were nice enough to send me a DM and let me know it was over.
Andy - I followed a few people who listed themselves here, then looked at who were following them, added them - and then spotted familiar names on each company - (Followed by etc) It adds up over time.Wishing you all good luck!

I too have a few friends on twitter and tend to follow the comps via twitter rather than go through all the ones on MSE cos most twitter comps are only for a short space of time.
im @traceya89 if anyone wants to follow me!Just about to give up!0 -
I set up my official twitter comping account around nov/december (i think.) I retweet as much as i can, usually i'll retweet the same tweet for a maximum of two times... but if the terms and conditions state something else then obviously i always go with that. I do have my picture up there, as i find most spam twitter accounts don't usually have a pic up. I've had lots of wins from different companies.
I try to throw the odd random tweet in there... but i don't really converse much. I have a personal twitter account that i've had since 08 and only really chat to people on there. But... if people do tweet me on my comping account, i'll always be polite and tweet back!0 -

Just follow some of the people who have given their names on here - you'll soon have more than you can cope with. Don't worry about trying to find them. Don't retweet from their tweets, copy & paste them.
I usually have 2 browser pages open side by side, one for twitter on my home page and one I am comping from (which usually ends up with loads of open tabs). I can then just highlight, and drag & drop the tweet into my home page.0 -
I thought I'd give twitter a bash this month, won around 5 items. I did a few days of doing alot RT and won them all this way. Then when I had all the end of month regular comps to do only RT each comp once and have since won nothing. So yes I do think the more RTing you do really must count and give you a better chance of winning.
On the otherhand I also started doing FB comp and have won 7 - 8 of those comps this month.l Some really nice prizes. And I like the fact you only need to enter once, so less effort. The only problem with FB comps is that I regularly miss my name on winners lists, and only find out I wn from other FB members messaging me, or me googling my name. So for all I know there may be comps on FB I have won, I just dont know about. I just dont have the time to read my live feed, or re-seach back over the comps I have entered. I just dont understand why they just cant message you direct to let you know you have won2015 Big wins: luxury 7 night holiday in sharm el sheikh, theatre tix, £123, IPad Air 16gb, Night in London hotel celebjuicetix :, Portable dvd playerT

Ok my little rant over lol. Oh if anyone sees my name on an FB winner list its "Kim Howes" Msg me LOL
Hi Kim
I just use the search box on facebook to search for my name for any comp wins. Do it once a day and you shouldn't miss any :AThanks to all those who post comps:A0 -
I have just noticed I have picked up a lot of twitter followers since I put my name on here - If you are one of the people who followed me, DM on here, & I will follow you back - I am a bit unsure as to who to follow, and tend not to follow back (unless its a company that puts out comps:D - )The reason for that is I've been getting a lot of odd follows lately, so am a bit wary.0
