Halifax Total Mortgage Protection Plan

Hi
I have a Halifax Total Mortgage Protection Plan policy which covers you if you are off sick.
I have made a claim for sickness and sent in sick note, the claim form which was duly completed by GP. I had a 30 day wait period, and then they paid out for 1 payment. I then received a letter from Halifax Insurance advising my claim had been passed to the Claims Management Dept as it was a continuing claim. They want to come out and conduct a "claim review" at my home. Can they do this? I have asked for a copy of the T & C's of my policy 5 times (in writing) and so far and they still haven't sent it. I do understand this is an old policy (pays out for 24 months) but surely they should still have the T & C's. Can I refuse a home visit and if so, will this affect my claim? I have made a complaint to them regarding the way my claim has been handled.
Any help would be much appreciated

Every company is different, but having someone come out to see you i do think is the norm.

I dont think it is actually halifax who come out...infact i would put money on it not being. The insurance will usually be underwritten by another company (eg aviva/norwich union or maybe another company). Although it may not even be them who come out, it could well be someone froma c ompany called medicals direct or similar. They are usually trained nurses and are able to pick up on little things.

If its a genuine claim i wouldnt worry. Theyre not there to catch you out, just to have someone work on their behalf to confirm it is the truth.
