Will there ever be a 'good' umberella?

I hate umberellas. Every time it rains, I take out my 'trusty' - or so it is supposed to be - umberella, to help sheild me from the rain and wind. But that never happens. As we all know ladies (and gentlemen) said brolly decides to turn inside out, all the parts break off, the handle bends, you get hit in the face (several times). You know the story. And i'm ruddy well sick off it.
Will there ever be a 'good' umberella?
Cheap or expensive; they're all the same. I haven't come across a good one yet. It gets worse when it's windy and Brolly goes mental and starts smacking passers by in the face. I think sometimes folk think i'm doing it on purpose...
We need sturdy Brollies, Brollies that don't 'accidently' injure people on their way to work in the morning. Or injure me, thank you very much. Leathal weapons, they are. If it was a choice between having a handbag or a brolly to fight off a mugger, i'd pick Brolly. Probably the only thing I have actually concluded that they are good for.
I know what you're going to tell me, "Don't you have a hood?!". No.
I want a good umberella, one that doesn't cost a fortune and then turn back to front when a car drives past. It's not a good look.
You know what I mean?
I do realise I've went a bit bonkers, but in no circumstances can anybody refer to me as crazy brolly lady, you got that?! Good.

I keep meaning to buy ONE OF THESE
They pop up in those weird catalogues you get in the sunday papers - usually BOGOF for about £15. But then I think £15 is quite a lot for a brolly if it doesn't work - I could get 15 from the £shop for that
I just gave away my only bumbershoot* - I'd rather get wet than look like a t!t in the wind :rotfl:
*my BFF calls brolly's bumbershoots - I rather like it

Have you tried the Birdcage umbrellas? they don't turn inside out at all! You do need a string arm though when it gets windy!0

Love it. Lament for a Working Umbrella.

I've got one of these windproof umbrellas and they are really good. It feels like it's more likely to pull your arm off than turn inside out:)0 -
The only umbrellas I like, I am sadly only able to buy in America. Every time I go I make sure I buy one!!
The brand is ShedRain, and they are not only sturdy and last much longer than any other umbrellas I've had, they also do the micro-sized ones which are so tiny that they fit in any handbag easily.0 -
Fultons are the brand, will blow inside out but survive. I usually have mind for a year or more. TKMaxx is the place to look it you don't want to pay the £20 price, usually £7 or £8 in there.0

I read a magazine review on brollies the other day the top two were the pricey never blows inside out one from QVC at approx. £22 or a Debenhams one, black with an owl motif, at £12.50
Personally I've given up and only get them from the pound shop these days.Freebies Received: Supersavvyme bag, Olay moisturiser, Barbara Daly/Tesco Mascara, Seeds of Change Choccie, Yorkshire Tea Kenyan teabags, Tesco mobile sim cards x 2.
Won: Yorkshire Tea goodie box0 -
My best umbrella so far has come from Accessorize! I think it was supposed to be about £20 to begin with but I got it in the January sales 2 years ago for under £10. It's still going strong
