Do you know if you have an actual solicitor acting in your conveyancing?

Most people think they have an actual conveyancing 'solicitor' acting.Do you know for sure if yours is a conveyancing 'solicitor' or at least a legal executive?
My posts are just my opinions and are not offered as legal advice - though I consider them darn fine opinions none the less.:cool2:

    If you don't have a conveyancing solicitor and you have anyone else then you'd think your fee would be less. Usually it is not, and sometimes with high pressure estate agent referrals, you end up paying more.

    Scary if you do not, as have you been suckered into paying a non-legal expert a solicitor fee....:eek:

    Does it really matter?

    Conveyancing ain't rocket science, it's mainly about form-filling

    When I was a junior solicitors clerk, 35 years ago, we had to visit the seller's solicitors offices omigod in order to check title and hand over a bankers draft

    We would then return with a bagful of deeds

    These days, there is no physical exchange of contract, nor payment of deposit, nor handover of title deed

    It's a game of charades, played in a field of Scotch Mist

    Indeed. If it weren't for mortgage lenders insisting, true Moneysavers would do their own conveyancing.
