Hi all,

We have received our Energy Smart Monitor today (White & Full Coulour Display) from British gas and it is not clear on what to set the figures to on the monitor so it gives me the amount in £ how much i am using.

Find your annual spend i.e £450.00 and divide it by your annual usage i.e 3300kWh. Then use the figure you get. i.e £0.1364 or that's 13.64p

OK. We was on PrePayment meters up until a few weeks back where they changed them to standard credit meters. We do not have a annual usage yet.

Could be anything then...I'd set it to 15p. You can always change it down later. It's better to watch the monitor in kWh though rather than £.

The new monitor works exactly the same as the old one.
    Just watch the watts!

Mine overestimates usage by around 20%.

Much better to take regular meter readings, use a site like http://www.imeasure.org.uk

    to record them.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
