No doubt the worst customer service I have ever came across..
Anyway, I appealed spoke to a guy called Adrian Darling in customer relations department, he gave me the same line as the Mumbai nutcases gave me, however I argued my point with him that my credit report isn't bad!
I emailed him a copy of it, he checked it and agreed.
The account has been reopened now, with the balance transfer agreed.
There is hope guys, don't let people tell your otherwise.
This email address is the one I used, it got me through to the department that deals with these cases. (in England)

Most importantly, did the letter make any acknowledgement of the fact that this was a brand new account they were closing?
I have a strong suspicion that this is being caused by a systems failure at Barclaycard. Such a failure could go undetected for a long time, because their useless Mumbai customer service drones refuse to apply common sense or in any way deviate from their scripts. Even the first level of complaints is handled by them, so they have effectively prevented most issues from escalating to a level where problems can actually be solved.
All sorted now, but in answer to your question no it makes no reference that the account was brand new!!!!
That was the issue I had, the account was a day old.:eek:0 -
Just posting again, to let a few more people aware that an appeal does work sometimes!!!
In case not alot of people seen my update today.

Sorry for the thread hijack, glad it's not just me who's been inexplicably treated by this shower.
Applied for a Barclaycard as I wanted to transfer a balance, got a letter saying that although I wouldn't get the card I'd applied for, I'd been offered a different card that on the surface had all the same features as the one I'd applied for (key was 0% balance transfer), signed and sent off the credit agreement, got a letter back a week later saying my application had been rejected.
How do you go from "your new card is ready and waiting, all you need to do is sign the credit agreement" to "sorry, we've rejected your application?"DEBT FREE!

Thats the problem you see, its very hard to understand.
I got the line that there was a "change in their lending criteria"
