Mags - just PM'd you re home-job
.
Thanks hun :A
I'm off to sign up for the adult chat lines now :rotfl:
Just joking people, she most definitely doesn't do anything of the sort. I can assure you that Lulas home-job won't cause DD any psychological distress. I wish it was my home-job actually. Thanks again for the info :ATotal debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -
Morning all
the sun shone yesterday, so it was off out to the wilds of the garden for me, wielding my hedgetrimmer in the direction of anything that looked bit rampant.
What a brilliant piece of kit that is, well worth the £35 investment & so much easier & safer to use than a corded one. I trimmed all the conifer hedging & then decided to move the pink greenhouse to another location. I need to buy one more conifer as there's a gap behind where it was stood & it bugs me, so I may just head off to a garden centre later & use up the Uncle Richard credit.
I've decided against buying the swimsuit for now as the idea was to sleek into my existing one, not buy a larger one& the vouchers along with the £5 off childrens clothes vouchers mean I might be able to get something for DD for nearly nothing ie shoes for school
.
I also spent hours clearing out & tidying up the shed - hideous beasts lurking in the depths but I have finally folded up all the cardboard boxes & also uncovered yet more wood that can be made into raised veg boxes. Just need to get some glue & brackets & get on with it.
DD came out to help for a while & then went in to make some gingerbread men - I have a lovely book about seasonal festivals with corresponding recipes & she made proper lemonade the other day. I was in fits of giggles when she came to me with a puzzled look & said " I still don't get how we're going to make it fizzy" :rotfl:
She was very disappointed that it wasn't meant to be & tried adding baking soda to hers, which certainly made it fizz, but didn't do much for the flavour. At least she's resourceful-
Her gingerbread men were perfect although our cutter is tiny so we have an army of mini ones in the cookie jar.
Had a long soak in the bath & then spent the evening watching tv & doing our nails etc.
NSD number 2 was had :j.
The shadow of 'The place I have to go back to' is hovering in the background, but I'm staying focused & today is all about cleaning, tidying, laundry & ironing then tomorrow we're seeing rellies.
Will need to get some bits of food later on so probably not a NSD. Washing machine is ready to be emptied so off I go,
bye for now

Daaahlings, I've found a good reason to go back to the place of workship on Monday; I'm on my last bottle of cider .
I'm impressed with myself as I've really eked them out & I've not had any other booze at all. There are still 2 bottles of the vibrant & tasty wine in the kitchen so I'm a very very good Lula.
I did all the clothes laundry & ironing today & tomorrow just need to do the towels & I certainly don't iron them so that's a relief. To be honest, I've not done a huge amount of chores today, there's been a fair bit of pottering about tidying & relocating things, but no actual work of the bathroom cleaning or hoovering or mopping variety. So, that's all to be done first thing tomorrow.
I forgot to mention yesterday that during my big shed & garden clear out, I managed to donate loads of DDs old toys & sandpit to nice downstairs neighbour. She was delighted & in return gave me a box of egss from her FILs chickens - they're huge & very tasty.
I also forgot to mention that more goodies arrived in the post yesterday; a fabby new purse from a wonderful enchanted place called Fairysteps. It smells divine, is a very simple shape with popper fastening & is a lovely sky blue colour with a purple pocket on the front that will hold a CC. I love it :heartpuls.
I also received my first ever matterbox after signing up for them about 3 years ago. It was a bit of disappointment, there was a box with cadbury's printed on the side, but not even a hint of chocolate, just some rather silly game.
Todays post was good too as I received another glossy & another £10 M&s voucher for being a loyal SE customer :j. That £30 will come in very handy at some point between now & Christmas
There has been money flowing out though, I had to get DD some more antihistamine so that she can raw fruit & veg - thankfully bogof at £4.19 & then we went to the co op to get some food & packed lunch stuff. Plenty of reduced items & deals to be had in there & we left with 2 carrier bags full, having spent £18.68. I have now spent £29.18 on Groceries this month, & hope to keep it really low this month as I'll be shopping locally as much as I can.
I'm getting quite excited about clearing the CC now, I can see the end in sight but must NOT try to leap ahead & clear it too quickly just for the sake of it & then be really skint. I think I've learned that it's better to pace myself than get fixated on a specific date. It did backfire slightly last time.
There won't be any big emotional dramas this time either - this CC debt was a conscious - if somewhat impulsive - decision & I was fully aware of all the facts before I used it. I'm still excited though.
I probably didn't mention that while in M&S, I was asked if I'd be interested in a 0% CC ... I was briefly tempted, but only for a fraction of a second & then politely declined.
This does not mean that I won't at some point take up a similar offer, but only once this CC is cleared, I have got rid of the Uncle Richard CC, bought a wet suit for the lappie & know that my job is secure. I'm learning
I will need to sort out some new savings funds for next year's hol, home refurbishments, the long term Escape From Reality fund & I'd love to be able to shovel £1,000 into the ISA before the end of the year as well.
I have lots of plans floating round my head, but do need to do a lot more thinking, realistic budget planning & focus on a target.
I have a lovefilm to watch so bid you all
G'night

All sounding great in Lula land and am sure you'll fill those funds in no time.0
-
Hope you enjoyed lovefilm! I confess, I bought a dvd the other day - £4 in Sainsbo - Men Who Stare At Goats - a kind of comedy, based on the real Stargate project, which was declassified in 1995.
Just a thought on the antihistamines, Lula - don't know if DD needs a specific brand, but supermarkets own are only about 20% of that price, certainly less than a pound, and they contain the same ingredients.
I'm really looking forward to the Escape From Reality Fund getting started2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
To be honest, I've not done a huge amount of chores today, there's been a fair bit of pottering about tidying & relocating things, but no actual work of the bathroom cleaning or hoovering or mopping variety.
Thank God for that - I thought I was going to have to slink out of the party through lack of common ground.
You are sounding very organised with and in control of the finances. Great stuff."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -

Don't you dare slink off .
Anyway, fear not dear Wordsmith, we'll always have a lack of cooking will & skill in common.
I've hung out the towels on the line, pottered about & gathered some lavender & 4 blackberries this morning. I am still succesfully ignoring cleaning the bathroom & hoovering, there are so many other things to occupy me.0 -
I've finished all my cleaning (thankfully) this morning leaving the afternoon to do some other jobs - treat the dog to a nice long walk somewhere different and garden clearance continuation. Then its pamper time as my stew cooks (stew in August???) Oh yes, fancied something other than fish and veg or salad and it is quite cool today to justify it

First I have to assure fedupandskint that I did manage to get all my chores done - just cover your ears Wordsmith
-.
I was spurred on by angerI retrieved my wok from the cupboard with all good intentions of using it for a good old cooked breakfast, when I discovered that the previous user had left it covered in something black & crispy . I was seething & it took over an hour of soaking, scrubbing & repeating to get it clean. I used the soaking intervals to viciously scrub the bathroom, violently hoover the floors & then finally manically mop the floors.
Was still mad when I'd finished but the home looks very clean. I'm starting to think my home & Kitty sitter was more trouble than worth. I certainly wont be paying for her again. Related or not, there was too much cleaning up to do.
Having finally had our brunch, we headed off to see the rellies; I collected my grandmother on the way & we then headed to Dads who surpised us all by making pots of tea & producing cake too.
My sibling was there as well which was great and she was wearing The Killers T we bought her at the gig so that was rewarding.
I have discovered that the only thing rather more irksome than being told by sibling that they intend to buy a camper van ... is that they already have enough money to do so in their savings account, but 'obviously can't use that' so have given themselves 2 years to buy it. I'm not sure whether to , :rotfl:or.
To be fair, she & her previous partner did (about 5 years ago) mention perhaps getting one, but I was still irked at how casually the gauntlet was tossed down.
Our discussion about the cost, time & maintenance involved in having a boat, didn't improve my mood much either. It just compounded what I've been afraid to admit for some time. I very probably cannot afford to keep this place & have a boat as well. I think it will be an either or situation, unless something happens to dramatically alter my circumstances.
Never mind, that wont deter me from pursuing the Escape From Reality Fund & I have made steps towards it already.
I have paid a few more pounds & pennies to the Custard Coloured Co-Op Credit Card & it now has a balance of £950.
Oh yes, we're back into a 3 figure sum :j. A rather scary one & still within spitting distance of 4 figures, but it's a big psychological leap & I feel pleased with myself.
I'm doubly determined to keep the grocery spends low so I've made up a batch of pasta with some tuna, chives, mayo & sweetcorn to take in to work & still have some of the fat free yogurts left so will eke those out too.
I have all DDs packed lunch needs for the next 3 days & can top up again when necessary. I've not even thought about what horrors await me tomorrow but have already put my outfit together to make the early morning a bit smoother. As there seems to be a monsoon going on outside, I may have to change the bottom half, but hopefully it will dry out by morning.
Must get to sleep now,
G'night

Uh oh, your sitter's going to be in for it, isn't she - but good for you for making sure you got your brunch the way you wanted it.
Since your dad produced tea and cakes for your "efficient" rellie visit, maybe thats the way to go in future, tho camper van irking is a bit horrible
Hope it goes well today - as they say in showbiz, knock 'em dead!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
