Hi,
I've been looking for car insurance and the cheapest I have got is £551. Tried the same thing with Tesco's car insurance and came out with £405. Just wondering if I am missing something here. I have got the quote online plus a clubcard member.
Tesco claimed the following assumptions in the quote which I think is no different from the standard t & c?
About you and any other drivers
Your vehicle is right hand drive - Yes
Your vehicle is not an import - I think so
Your vehicle has not been modified in any way - Yes
Your vehicle has no more than 8 seats - True
Your vehicle registration is not a "Q" plate - True
Considering all that, it should be a simple insurance, yes? Thanks!:o

Yes - these are all standard questions with insurance companies. But do be careful with your NCD. If you said that you have x years of NCD, they may require you to send them proof. This will need to be from your current insurers or even your previous ones. So you may need to contact all your previous insurers to obtain details of your NCD in years not %ageBefore doing something... do nothing0

As l have said on previous threads on the forum, l recently moved to Tesco insurance as they were by far the cheapest.
The only issue l had was getting used to how all documents etc are sent by email, so do keep a check on your inbox as they don't seem to post anything to you.0 -
Watch out with them on Giftcard promises! They played me on that as i was suppose to get a £50 voucher and got nothing as they came up with lame excuse that only lux pack offered get it , when THERE own site said ALL insurnace policies taken out before 1 st April 2009! NEVER AGAIN and should have taken them to the WATCHDOG or TSA as i have the print out stating all policies !0

Tesco are poor and have lied to me in 2009! NEVER AGAIN they are !!!!!0

tesco beat all others at my last renewal by about 200 quid!!!
This morning i rang them to change my car from a 1.4 rover to a 2.2 civic and it only increased my policy by 54pound (against about 6 months left on the year!)
I've never been on hold on the phone for too long so can't really fault them
(but if someone has cheaper insurance i'll leave them without a second thought :P )0 -
Ive recently moved to Tesco as well, my renewal came in at £889, the next cheapest I could find was £670
With Tesco (for like for like cover) it was £445:money:0 -
CHURCHILL DIRECT! I was gobsmacked if you play about with the amount you pay up first as that is the trick of getting the policy down to acceptable levels as car insurance is getting a real joke nowadays! As i said those Board diretories are looking forward to their 'Brucie Bonus!0
