Can I use bleach/disinfectant to clean/rescue my cool box?

I have a cool box like this one (http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3400487/Trail/searchtext%3E24+LITRE+COOL+BOX.htm)
It used to be stored in the shed until we had a clear out and it must have been left outside with stuff to throw out(I don't know why there was nothing wrong with it) so it is quite mucky with dirt & leaves etc and there was quite a lot of rain water inside of it.
I have emptied the water out and there are no signs of the water getting within the casing, so is it safe to use bleach or disinfectant to clear the muck off of it and to give the inside a good clean.
My main reason for asking is because I need it for tomorrow and I want to make sure I'm not going to make anyone ill by cleaning it this way.
Thank for any help/advice

Yes, give it a good scub it'll be ok in a mild solution of bleach. Leave it open overnight and the smell will have gone.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.
