Where are the best places to buy kitchen base units?

Hi Folks

I live in the Midlands and need to buy some kitchen base units.
Can anyone please advice the best retailers/websites for this purpose.

Thank You.

    Hi,

I would strongly recommend Ikea. I am having an Ikea kitchen fitted as I stand here and type this. My fitter (who has fitted them all) keeps commenting on how well they are constructed. They all come with a 20 year guarentee as well which you will be hard pushed to find anywhere else...

Be warned though that they do not have a service cavity at the back so if you are putting into an existing kitchen (mine are going into an extension so all services are under floor) you may have to do some cutting of the cabinets.

Also be warned that they are the full 600mm deep meaning that you will need a 625mm worktop if you still want an overhang. Plenty of places that will cut breaklfast bars down though on the internet (we purchased Bushboard as they do a 665mm breakfast bar so we did not lose much).

At the price (I paid £2002 for 14 units with Oak doors + worktop) I don't think you can beat it. Ikea also came 2nd (only to John Lewis) in a recent Which report.

I'd second Ikea on price at least.. they are by far the cheapest I've found.. not got any yet though so can't comment on quality!

    The best?

I'd have to say Clive Christian.
