Dont bother with NEA unless your business has immediate legs to walk in 10 weeks. Thats what I got told at an interview at the Chamber of Commerce in my area. The criteria is also a credit check. This NEA scheme is just lip service to the jobless in my opinion. I went with a partial business plan to show I was doing some work on it and it was more or less thrown back in my face and I was told to toddle along and when my business gets a pair of legs to come back and maybe I will be considered for this course. Also it has to benefit the local area. I THOUGHT it was there to help mentor and assist you into self employment? Who the hell is going to have business legs in 10 weeks? This was never explained to me by the job centre who have no idea of the allowance criteria. Also who on benefits has a good credit record? Not everyone. This was a complete waste of my time. So its back to square one. Claiming benefits.
