Installing an Ensuite, where there is a sink?

My bedroom has a sink in it, in the store room next to it

Can i turn this into an ensuite, with some builders ?

or do you need additional pipes for this ?

Depends what you want in your "ensuite", which again depends on the space you have available.

You will need hot and cold water for washbasin/bath/shower.
    Cold water for the loo.
"Small" (32/40mm) bore waste pipes for basin/bath/shower.
"Large" (100mm+) bore waste pipe for toilet - unless you use a Saniflo, when you can use "small" bore - but will need a power supply for that.

If you decide to use a macerator (saniflo) instead of putting in a new big waste pipe for the loo make sure you hear one first..!

My parents had one put in when they made a granny flat in their house and I'm not sure if it's just their's but the amount of noise it makes is tremendous!!

They chomp up all the toilet waste so it fits down a little pipe! Quite nasty when you think about it!!

Sounds (:rotfl:) as if it wasn't installed properly, they obviously do make some noise - but it shouldn't be "tremendous" - apart from which, it should only run for 10 to 15 secs each time.

It does only run for 10-15 seconds but it's also connected to the shower (god knows why!!) and heck it makes you jump when that clicks in..

The shower being connected is quite usual/normal. I have a Saniflo in the downstairs loo and the WHB drains into that as well.
You can also get special high temperature ones to deal with kitchen/washing machine waste.
I suppose if you are not used to it, it could startle you - especially if you are sitting on it :eek:
