I think we have a problem here - there is no 'right' to credit, so claiming any loss of bargain is a risky case to bring. I would say 'good luck', but I think you may be beyond luck and on a crusade now...

    OP,

I am afraid your crusade, for what it is worth, is about your problem to deal with issues in 1998 correctly. I note that you gloated when you got someone to state in 2008 that you had won, though in reality it was just a collapsed paper bag.

I note that the Guardian have removed your comments from the board and no doubt the same will happen in this parish shortly. I fear that your chase for people who are willing to give you the answer your are looking for is not in vain, though I fear, the negligence on your part in the first instance on not cancelling the agreement in 1998 does not bode you good.

Carry on your crusade, against your percieved wrongs, though just because you think you are right, does not necessarily mean that it is or was right. Your claim that the default was put on your file was defamatory. though excuses your stooqing and credit hawking during the period from 1998? or earlier til 2006. The way to deal with these issues is upfront, not in theoil well.

I note in 3 years, your arrogrance in this parish is still the same. Alas, you were a 1" (ONE INCH) column in a third rate newspaper once. The hacks have eaten your words, swollowed your remorse and have forgotten you.

I'm keen to spread this news. It's only just been awarded here in Aberdeen. I'm unsure if England even know about it...

I was wrongly defaulted by a bank for 6 years. I was prevented from purchasing a home for my new family.

I sued the bank for the difference in house price and I'm half way there (So far I've been awarded £116 000 and I just need to win the appeal for a figure over £200 000)

If you'd like to take advantage of this new ruling your solicitor should be able to help. (Legal Aid should now be possible). At the very least you should be able to get £8000.

Hope this helps and it's in the right place!

I'm still trying to get in touch with "The Architect" (Martin)

I assume that the Architect has not yet been a bedfellow for your misfortune.

Hmm. There has been a wrong here, but i think that you have not sued the right party and so might lose. I don't have a great deal of faith in your schedule of losses. I suspect that you should have sued PC world for the full amount in the 90s and then passed this on to the finance house.

Good luck and all, but I won't be signing this petition.

If you bought a pint on tick at the Dog and Duck and returned it because they said it was bitter and it was actually lager would you consider that you still needed to pay for it ?

    A fine analogy. Thanks.

No sale agreement in my case though. That's the real sickener. The bank should be facing criminal charges.

For the sake of everyone struggling to come out of the recession with a malicious default around their neck, I really hope this legislation can be rushed through in time.

Personally, barring a miraculous ruling by the Supreme Court, my family will likely remain screwed because of the initial huge cost of borrowing to fight the case as far as credit would allow.

    What legislation?

Sorry, you've been led up a path.

    What legislation?

Something simple that can't be misinterpreted. Perhaps too much to ask but if one doesn't ask......

negligence on your part in the first instance on not cancelling the agreement in 1998

Agreement shouldn't exist (as agreed!). Trying to cancel it proved impossible. Bank refused. Malicious.

He agrees with me. It seems I could be the next one in the Supreme Court on behalf of the consumer.

Legal Aid to be condidered next month in this action to stand up to the bullying banks.

Wider public interest will be a key issue.
