I think i would say that you would love her to be there all day but that you understand she has other committements etc, and as she would have to be leaving at 8, you think dinner might not be over by this time, so itt would be best if she didn't come to the dinner, but that you would love her at the ceremony and after ceremony drinks reception (if having one) etc.

Because we are having everything at the same venue we are only having people to the ceremony who are then staying for the meal having 2 more for the ceremony who are then not staying for the meal and therefore we wont be charged for would probably confuse our venue and believe me they seem easily confused!!! I could lie and say I don't think it will be finished in time but with a 12pm ceremony its unlikely plus there are others going in the same circle of friends who are likely to say oh no its finished bu such and such!! I just wish she had said no and then I won't have to make a decision :(

Haven't been on here in a while.

Magpie, maybe just let them come anyway. You don't want to lose friends over a meal and not everyone will stay late anyway. I know it's not ideal but it sounds as though they'd like to come. You don't want to say you don't think it'll be finished in time unless there's an actual possibility of that being the case.

Still got lots to do - finish making invitations, choose some readings (and some people to read them!), dress fitting, little bridesmaids dress, flowers.... aaargh! It's making my head hurt!!

I need to make 3 cakes, and it is 9 hours  of bakin all together! That's not countin the mixing! It's cis I have to make 3 individually as I only have 1 tin!

I'm going to bring my shoes home tonight and start wearing them in as well!

Don't make cakes in your wedding shoes, the flour always has a tendancy to go everywhere when I bake!

Me and my mum are baking our cake too, and we're hiring the cake tins - and its only a very small cost - so maybe worth doing for you to reduce the time?

Well I have one of them... And I don't have a big enough bowl mixer to make them all together anyway! if I use different tins they will all be slightly different because I the lumps and imperfections in the tin, the one I have is brand new, so hopefully they will all be identical! (I am making one very long rectangular cake- but finding a tin for that was impossible!)

Yeah, that's true about the flour. I just feel I need to wear them all day, and rarely have a day where I am in an on my feet, only seems to involve me cookin or cleaning!

I've heard of women taking their shoes into the office to wear them in, if your office is quite quiet maybe you could do that?

Hmm probably not... Although if I get desperate that is always an option!
