Can't get my credit report

I have been refused a Tesco credit card and a store card and so decided to check out my credit rating using one of those online website recommended in the credit report section on this site. I have however registered to get a pay monthly phone with Tesco successfully.

I went through the registration section and when it got to the point of entering my credit card I used the one I've had for 10 years registered at the same address all this time. After this though it said it couldn't verify my identity using this card and so I couldn't register on the site.

How else can I find out my credit rating and could this pose a serious problem when I go to get a mortgage?

I'm now starting to worry.

Which CRA did you use? are you on the electoral roll (if not this sometimes this can mean they cannot give you an automatic report)
You can print out the online forms from the credit ref agency and post this (with card details or a cheque or credit card). They'll then send you your full credit report in the post withina bout a week.

  • I tried Equifax. I had tried Credit Expert but the registration website crashed half way through, it's says that I have already registered but it doesn't recognise my login details. I phoned them up and they said try again in 6 months to register with a different username.

I'm not on the electoral role as I was away travelling during the last election.

My guess would be not being on the electoral roll could easily be a major reason you have been declined for a credit card and store card. Its also likely to be the reason they cannot give you your file online straight away.
Its certainly also likely to impact on obtaining a mortgage. Getting yourself registered with your local council would be a good next move.

Feeble excuse, if you ask me. (Which you didn't but I'll say it anyway.)

Click HERE immediately. I don't care who you vote for, but vote. Thank you. :)

That didn't work when I tried, they realised I'd already had the trial from my past address.
