Basically I've found a house to rent from July which is good! I obviously don't know what to budget on bills for a 2 bed house with myself and the baby but there is a company who does an inclusive bill package and based on that address, per week this is what they'd charge for these services. The internet is Virgin Media Fibre Optics I know it.
I just have never lived a lone before! I'm aware it might be a little more than someone but it would mean its averaged over the year ie don't get massive winter bills
What do you think?
The services below will cost £35.71 per person per week with a connection charge of £24.99 per person:
Gas
Electricity
Water
Telephone Line
Broadband
TV Licence
Each tenant will pay one, individual bill every month, helping you avoid household disputes.
Remember, if you're sensible with your energy consumption, you're likely to get some money back at the end of the year.
Now it is just a few more minutes to complete the process and then it's all done for the duration of your tenancy agreement. Then you can start spending time doing the things that you want to do.

Have you done an internet search on the company to check out if there are any horror stories on them/praise?
Also, I'd ask on the Utilities board on here about this just to see what people on there think.
Best of luck with everything: I remember you from your thread when you first found out you were pregnant.0 -
Doesn't sound enough to me, my bills come to way more than that a week.
£5.50 TV
£10 gas
£11 water
£25 electric
£12 ntl
£63.50 and ther's 4 of us.0 -
It sounds a bit much to me, I'm basing it on the fact they expect 2 people to pay that amount so would equal £3713.84 over a year plus the £24.99 each connection charge. Correct me if I'm wrong. to give you an idea 3 of us live in our 2 bedroomed (but largish) maisonette we pay, each month by dd
Gas 39
Electricity 48
Water 0 (it's in with the council tax up here in Scotland)
Telephone Line, broadband & cable TV 46.62
TV Licence 12.37
So over the year that would total £1751.88 or
Would you have to pay council tax on top of that?
If you pay by direct debit the bill's are spread over the year so hopefully you won't be hit by massive bill's after a harsh winter.Booo!!!0 -
we pay
gas -15
elec - 10
TV - 4
b'band 5.5
water - 6
phone 4
for a 5 bed house with 4 people in it - obv TV, B'Band are fixed rather than per person and but it seems a lot to me.
You can pay TV and broad band as a monthly DD anyway and most utilities will give you an estimate of your annual usage so you can pay a fixed Direct Debit and as long as you send regular readings you will be able to check you are on track and adjust of you needPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I know what the bills are in a 6 bed house (ie where I live now), £25 month fibre optic internet but the gas and electric doesnt have an average as we've only been paying for it since september and it was rather cold this winter. It would be £150 all in on that deal (its tailored for lazy students) per month. I just can't work out if £150 is a lot for one person and a baby argh.
I like the idea of not having to stress about bills whilst I am at uni and pay my debt off thats all. nevermind I guess it must be more than it would cost if its a company doing the legwork for you!Money money money.

Will you be having a lodger or just you & the baby, I think they would expect 2 people to pay £34.99 a week so x2x4 + £285.68 a month, which if it's only going to be you paying the bill's seems a lot to me.Booo!!!0

No it is calculated for one person. So £35 per person.
Just me and the baby!Money money money.

Well from your OP you say the bills are £35 a week so a month is around £140 - to me that sounds around right, I live in a 2 bed and our bills are £60 month gas/elec, £47 Water (not metered), £31 Virgin, £12 tv license, so its around £150 for me so yeah I think your quote as about right....MFW 2020 #111 Offset Balance £69,394.80/ £69,595.11
