    What have you added, do you mean that you have overpaid? If so, this would normally come from savings and not be ignored for benefit purposes.

    have 200k mortgage on full repayment
    money was tight and approached mortgage company to convert martgage to interst only
    they said how will you pay it off
    i said i have a isa worth 100k and based on this they would only convert 100k to interest only
    therefore this is my only means to pay off this portion of the mortgage therefore i would understand this is linked

    In that case I don't think it would be considered to be linked to the mortgage, I'd imagine it would be treated as capital.

    I agree with Mikazaru, the ISA was not taken out to pay off your mortgage, as at the time you took it out you were on a repayment mortgage.
