8000FFFF error on all windows 7 updates since oct 2010?

Had something similar when Windows 7 was trying to update to sp1
Problem was caused because I dual booted windows and Ubuntu, it was cleared by changing the priority of the disc filing system.
Cant remember quite how to do it, but info somewhere in here 'Technet blogs'
