I am an adult and I have a criminal record for a minor offence this year, and I was wondering if I will still be eligible for a student loan with a criminal record, as I am on an Access course and hopefully will be going to uni in September 07. (But only if I am can get the loans
).
I cannot find any info on Google.

Mind me asking what the offence was for? Or, more importantly what the severity of the sentence was? If it is something minor then I can't see it effecting your entitlement to support. Best thing to do would be to phone the SLC yourself and ask them.0

It was just for a £3.90 train fare evasion.0 -
I very much doubt that is going to effect your claim for student support.0

Shows you're more in need of the financial support if anything
Student Loans Company number is 0870 240 6298, sure it should be no problem.

I confess it's over a year since I skim-read my son's loan application forms, but I don't remember any such question! Can't see why it would be relevant, unless maybe you were convicted of fraud, a con trick, or money laundering ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

I don't think there are any restrictions on student finance, although your university might ask about it when applying - although for something like that I doubt it will effect your application0
