Supercamps- recommend or avoid?

Evening all
I've been looking into things for my daughter to do during the summer holiday, which gives both me & her some time out. I've found that they run a SuperCamps very near me at an Ascot school. The brochure looks fab for her age range (she'll just be 6 when the summer holidays start), albeit a bit pricey at £34 day/ £154 pw
Can anyone give me any personal recommendations or experiences before I sign her up?
Also would it be better to do a block week or 1-2 days per week? Would they have a set timetable so they do the same things the same days every week?
Thank you for reading this far

Hi Puddy, thanks for taking the time to reply.
Yes she would love to go. Tabitha is always on the go and needs constant stimulation. When we are on school holidays she's normally itching to go back to school. We do the usual cooking/arts/ park/ picnics and days out as far as a bus would take us. Unfortunately I do not drive and daddy can not get time off during the summer holidays. I also have a younger daughter (nearly 2), so we are limited on what we can do.
I'd love to give Tabitha the opportunity to do things that we normally wouldn't be able to do if it were just us- this Supercamps offers wall climbing, go karts, swimming, pottery.
Tabitha thrives on interaction with other children and I really think she'd love to go to this camp. I just need other peoples opinions on this particular camp or if anyone else is local to RG12 that can recommend any other day camps.
(Just to be clear, they do not sleep away at this camp. Daddy would drop Tabitha off at 8a and pick her up 5.30-6 pm)"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye."...Miss piggy0 -
your borough or county should have a childrens information service, might be worth seeing if they have had any feedback on local schemes and what ones seem the most popular0

I have booked my daughter in for a week at supercamps in the summer holidays. It was after hearing from another parent at school how much their older child enjoyed it last summer. I also have a two year old and agree it is hard to fill seven weeks with things you can do with an older and younger child. Personally I would not have gone for it for a six year old (mine is eight, nine at the end of this summer). Our local theatre do "summer school" which my daughter did last summer. It was just two days and 9am-3pm. The supercamps days you mention sound v long for a six year old to me but just my view. We are having two days at theatre again this summer too. That's seven days out of seven weeks and she can't wait but the time we have together (with two year old in tow) will be be looked forward to too!MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!0

My just turned 7 year old will be doing a couple of days at a Kings Camp (similar to Super) in the Easter hols, and a couple in the summer.
Likewise I have a 3 year old, and some of the more exciting activities that we can't do with her in tow he will be able to do.
I thought one or two days for a couple of weeks, as opposed to a whole week, so he gets a regular injection of fun.
By the way, half my DS's school go on these camps (day care essentially) and they all rave about it.0 -

The actuall hours are are from 9-4.30 but they offer free extended hours from 8-6. My OH would have to drop Tabitha off as he goes past for work and pick her up from work no later than 5.15-30pm. There would be no other way I could get her there.
We have 2 other clubs that are walkable from here, but speaking to parents that used them last year, neither were recommended due to lack of organisation and activities.
I'm thinking if I just did a 2 day week or Monday 1 week, Tuesday next, Wednesday next etc... that it would give Tabitha a day out from her clingy 2yr old sister, whilst giving us enough time to do our family activities."Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye."...Miss piggy0 -
Sounds like a good price. During the school hols I pay about that much to send my son to a holiday club at one of the local secondary schools - he loves it and gets to do all sorts of activities.0

My son went a couple of times age 6 and7 and really enjoyed it, but he did go with a friend - if I can remember we got a 2 for 1, or 1 for half price deal.0
