Query-wireless printers

Wireless printers..do they communicate with a wireless router or with an individual lap top?

I am considering one but i run Ubuntu linux.

If the printer talks to the router rather than the lappy then there shouldnt be any issues?

    Mine connects to the router so you should be fine.
  • one thing to think about, is giving any wireless printer you get its own permanent ip address
    if your router DHCP's it then some operating systems won't see it right every time
    windows 7 can usually see the name, but I know xp sometimes loses the printer if it gets a different ip
