I did put my foot down a couple of times and got told once "If you don't like it go home" You've also been down this road my friend I take it? I take it once badge is applied it can't be removed?

Welcome to the club, Slugger... it is not a nice place to be in. I am in the same situation, but now I am 'at risk' of being made redundant, even though since January I have been picking up work from colleagues that were not coping... and they are two pay bands above me.

What I do is pick and choose what I get involved with- ie, if you are quick and finish your job early, make sure you have something else to work on, it could be a bit of training, it could be fomulating a proposal, ... you name it, I guess it depends on your line of work. For me , lately it is training online, networking and reseraching and developing proposals for programmes, as this is my industry. If a colleague is struggling and I know that getting that experience will be good for me, I will give a hand. If I have nothign better to do, I think of who/where I woudl like to work and email them to see if i can have a chat about so and so areas or book sme shadowing. Generally , the more diverse your skills the better... and may be then you can move on to a job that keeps you occupied full time. I am still looking for that type of job.

    Good luck

Thanks for the replies, I actually work in a factory doing manual work. I think its just a case of every chain of command needs a whipping boy, unfortunately that is me, the only real solution is to leave. As i've mentioned in another thread redundancies are immanent so with a bitta luck i'll be on the first ship out.
