Hi,
My car insurance renewal is up on the 21st April and have just recieved my quote from my current provider of £395.83.
I know everyone says to use comparison website to get a better deal however the best deal i can get is £469.36?
My question is do i go to my current insurer and say ive had a cheaper quote can you match it? or snap their hand off at the price??
Help would be appreciated....

Some insurance companies guarantee to beat your renewal quote by 10% - try First Direct or Churchhill as both have done this in the pastWeight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0

If youve got a good quote from your compan then just go for it.
If they are being good to you, then do it back. What you are proposing?
That you lie to them to get a cheaper quote. Not fair really when they are playing
fair with you.
They may ask for proof of yor ficticious lower quote, what do you do then.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
count yourself lucky my cheapest was £7720

The Ins. Cos. are well aware what their competitors are charging and know if their quotes are around the cheapest or not.
Be satisfied you already been given the cheapest quote and its from your existing insurer. :beer:0 -
My current insurance is through Barclays and is due to expire on 21st April . I was checking out the comparison sites and the quotes I got were within £10 of my renewal with Barclays...I spoke to Barclays about my renewal and told them of the "cheaper" quote....they told me they couldnt match it and thanked me for my custom this year and to check back with them next year to see if they could offer me a quote!
They let a customer go for the sake of £10!
OP - If I were you I would ask your insurer to price match a quote which is fabricated as my guess is that they will tell you if you can get it that much lower to go for it!The loopy one has gone :j0 -

Which is how it should be really.
Offer the customer the best price in the first place.0
