Now listed as discontinued ... can't buy it any more0

I ordered one of these late last night together with a packet of photo paper to take it over the £50 for the discount code.
When I clicked on Confirm order it told me the order was placed for a packet of photo paper and that the blu-ray player was now out of stock.
I checked at lunchtime today and surprise surpirise the bu-ray player was back in stock but of course now the discount code has expiredThe Daily Mail

I took it back and they tried quite hard to find me another one but, as mentioned above, it's discontinued so they couldn't replace it.
However they refunded the full £49.97 so I'm not out of pocket. I'd rather have had a working player though.
I hope everyone else's is OK and free from faults.0 -
I bought one of these last week for a shade over £40 (90p on 3 padded envelopes, brought the price to just over £50 - thanks to the poster who suggested this).
For the price I think I got a bargain. hack worked first time and the only problem I has was with BD-live (didn't RTFM!). The unit has no on-board memory, so you need a FAT32 formatted USB 2GB-8GB memory stick to take the load. The only other niggle is that it won't update the firmware, even though t'internet is connected OK, but that seems to be a server problem at the other end (error 1600000?).
Picture is great via HDMI, sound OK, loader can be a bit clunky when loading, but quiet when running. Used region free version of District 9 BD to test (haven't got a region A disk yet). Played everything on the disk OK.
Hope this helps someone.0 -

After my last post I decided to re-order the blu-ray player anyway.
I also contacted Tesco Direct, explained what had happened with my original order and that I had re-ordered.
Yesterday evening I received a refund of £10 on my new order.
Great customer service from Tesco for honouring my original order with the discount. £40.95 for a blu-ray player is a great bargain :-)The Daily Mail
