Why not put your usage in one of the comparison sites.. I use uSwitch, and see what it says.

Making the following assumptions: 10000 kWh annual usage of gas. 4000 kWh annual usage of electric. Usage is the same every quarter (little relevance anyway). NOT taking into account dual fuel discount because you didn't say what it is (or is it included in the tariffs?). Then:

E.ON: Elec = £470.30, Gas = £355.71

BG: Elec = £471.87, Gas = £454.15

So E.ON looks cheaper but you say BG give you this credit after 12 months, so very little to choose between them unless the dual fuel discount makes a difference.

8% dual fuel discount with Eon, and crazy discounton tier two unit rate cost with BG up to set thresholds, totally no more than £105pa - which does not mean you WILL get £105!! The rates re BG's Standard and is £100 ayera dearer, for them to credit £75 quid back!! So DD will be higher than Eon's over coming 12m
