Insuring 4x4 truck

Hi, just wondered if anyone 4x4 drivers can point me in the right direction for reasonable quotes for 4x4 insurance? I am trying to do a favour for a friend who doesn't have internet, but he has a Mitsubishi L200 and I can't get most of the usual sites to recognise it. They don't know the model from the number plate, and L200 isn't an option it offers for you to manually enter the details. I'm probably being think, so please be nice :o
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

I think the problem comes if Brokers are trying to class it as a 4x4 as it actually viewed as a van/pick-up. There are alot of places that won't do insurance on it as they tend to treat all of these types of vehicles as being for business use (even if you say this is not the case). Apparantly there is a Broker who is a Mitsubishi specialist called Adrian Flux (believe you would have to call them) but you really want to try and give somewhere online a go like vancompare.com. Good luck!

I wondered about this, and tried swift cover for him. They have L200 listed under van ins as well. Trust him to be awkward! Thanks for the info. :)

We have an L200 and have just renewed for the second year with Adrian Flux (brokers) - seem efficient, but of course you only find out if you have to claim.

Very true. It isn't til you have an issue, that you find the problems with them!
