Roadside recovery - do you have best deal?

I was going to post my SOA on my other thread to give a better idea of where my money is going and I suddenly remembered about my roadside recovery/RAC membership. I can't for the life of me think what I pay, so will dig out my paperwork tommorrow and check. I've looked at the articles on MSE, but I wondered what deal you have and who with.

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post, it's just you lot are the ones I know!

Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.

  • Thanks, but it wont let me open the page, says there is a technical fault. I'll try again tommorrow.
  • I've certainly got the best deal. Full RAC cover (the most expensive package) for a total cost of £0. And thats for two years :D

i pay a few quid extra in my car insurance with direct line and get breakdown cover,
  • thanks to the postings on this site, around £32 for a year - covers 2 drivers and cars. Works on the pay at roadside and refunded later principle.

Were with the AA before this (about £150 pa), when we rang to cancel they asked if the reason was cost. When we said yes, they offered to cut cost by about 50%! Still switched to Auto Aid but kept an option with the AA to reactivate our membership at a later date without losing any benefits we might have accrued through 12 years membership.

Neither do I. That's why my car has been sitting broken down for the last 4 days!
