Well,
I can see the link on the main page to login for existing users of the online service.......
But nowhere can I find anything about how to initially register for the service if you are an existing customer!
Extraordinary!
Anyone got any hints/links

As espresso suggests, as an existing customer I still had to fill in the form and post it to them to register to use their online service.
After a long wait of about 7/8 weeks I was sent an NS&I number along with a temporary password separately in the post so I could login and view my investments online.Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -
Do you know if index-linked savings certificates show up in this online service?0

I've given up ever getting online with NS&I. I must have been trying most of this year. I was sent a form to fill in and heard nothing for weeks so rang up and was sent a second form as they couldn't trace the first but said they were very busy. Second form also disappeared into the pile so now I am on a third form and a few weeks ago was sent an NS&I number. Hurrah I thought! However the letter says they are sending a temporary password separately and (you've guessed it) that hasn't come yet. Not impressed.0

I don't think you can at the moment but its something they will be doing in the future, eventually they want to be able to make all their products available to view with the new online service.
claire07 - I received my NS&I number and temporary password separately, 2 days apart. If you have been issued with an NS&I number then I would have thought they have processed your application to use the new online service (no more forms to fill in hopefully!) so give them a call about not receiving your temporary password.Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -
last day of tax year tried to top up my ns&i isa online, found they need to send me a new password by "post" hopeless0

I have just registered (after an eight-week wait for a password). What a surreal experience!
Firstly I was told that my password input was invalid. On a hunch I converted what looks like a double "V" into a "W" and, hey presto, I was in! Or so I thought.
(As an aside, their temporary password does not conform to their own stringent requirements - 6-8 characters which must include upper and lower case letters, a number and a "special" character - Phew!)
I was then confronted with a list of FIVE "security questions" and was required to choose FIVE of these questions (sic). A word to the wise. If you have no children OR no siblings OR no cousins OR you are unsure of your parentage OR you have no interest in sport, you will not be able to register! Yes, you must answer ALL FIVE QUESTIONS.
Next I had to choose a picture and than choose a phrase. I resisted the urge to test their obscenity screener.
At last, I was in. I then confirmed what I already knew with regard to my lack of prize success and then nominated an account into which future prizes (hah!) will be paid - and yes, I had to answer two of my previously supplied "security questions", so don't imagine you can just lie about your non-existent cousin and then forget about it!
Now I need a cup of tea and a sit down in darkened room. Oh well, at least I no longer have to endure the disappointment of not receiving prizes through the post. Onward and upward.0 -
Are NS&I still taking up to 8 weeks to register exisiting policy holders for online access?
Is so, I've still got a couple of weeks wait I guess!0 -
From looking at my documentation
I signed the form in first few days of May and got the stuff back/approved/temp password etc around the 25th May. Mind you I think at that time they had no NSI issues on sale so perhaps they had more time to do things like approve on line access.....0 -
arggggh NSI password system is sending me round the bend. My password was working fine until mid December and then the system said that I had entered it wrong and the password would need to be reset so I was sent a password through the post. I activated this the day I got it and changed my password. Logged out and logged in and everything worked fine. The next time I logged in the system told me I had entered the password incorrectly ( I hadn't!!) and the password would need to be reset. I went through the same procedure and all appeared to be working correctly until today - the system has now reset my password again. NSI say that I am either entering the password incorrectly (I am not) or the system is remembering my old password....anyone else having the same problem?0
