I am looking at buying a camcorder , the samsung DVD VP-DC161, am i right in thinking that i can use any DVD R disks to redord on this then be able to play them back on my dvd player.

What do you think of this model, i just want a cheap and cheerful model, that i can record the kids xmas plays on,birthdays etc.

Any info you can give me on buying a camcorder will be helpfull, as i am totally lost right now

Hi there

Please, someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the type of discs you need to buy are the smaller, 8cm DVDs. You can get them as rewritables.

This way, anyone who manufactures a DVD camcorder has a "captive audience" as regular DVDs are coming down in price. Don't worry though, the smaller discs do work in DVD players and in computers.
