Michael Mcintyre ticket helpppp

Hi guys...just wondering if anyone can help my situation!!

I bought two tickets for Michael Mcintyre at the MEN arena Saturday 27th October next year...I got front row block seats, which can only be picked up from the box office on the event day...unfortunately I can not go on that day, but it says I have to pick up the tickets with my credit card i paid on and my confirmation e-mail...
I was going to give them to my sister in law and her boyfriend as a christmas present so they are not going to waste!!

What happens with ticketmaster if you can't pick up the ticket yourself..could I give my sister in law my card & letter?

Thanks for any advice :o xxxxxx

The reason of being collection only is to try and stop the resale of the tickets. If all you need to do is collect the tickets by showing the payment card then she should be ok with your card but if they ask for photo id as well then it could be tricky.

I would doubt that ticketmaster will allow you to send a letter with them. If there is no other mention of id then you should be ok giving your card to her - in the event of them asking for photo id then she could always say she didn't have any on her and wasn't asked to bring any. Does she look anything like like you for you to give her some other id?

Ring them up and ask, I had a similar thing when I bought my Mum & Dad tickets for Katherine Jenkins as a birthday treat for my Dad last year. I live miles away and am not a big fan so the idea was that just the two of them would go.
I got the same email so I rang up and asked and Ticketmaster said it would be fine to not show the card for that particular concert. That was at the MEN too.

Did something similar in Cardiff last year - my friend bought 3 tix for her, me and another friend, but then had problems with family and couldn't go - she called the box office, gave me a covering letter, and we picked them up no problem (although I should add we got there early on the day when the box office were not under lots of pressure).
  • :) Thankyou sooo much for all your replies!!

...It says in my confirmation letter to provide the card it was paid on and the e-mail of confirmation and that has to match up..they will not accept letter of authorisation (just looked into that)
There's no mention of i.d but perhaps i'll get a letter nearer to the time asking to bring it!
We sort of have a similar look but if they are looking really close :-S
I agree with them trying to crack down on the re-sale of tickets..people are ruining it for honest people!!

thanks bebewoo..similar problem! i might be best to ring and see what they can do!!

Mzfitz..Ahh thats good you were able to pick them up in the end with no problems.

Well its only next year so i've got a while to sort out..if i can!!

    Thanks all :) xxxx

They nearly always say you need the card when collecting tickets but I've never been asked at any venue I've been to. Personally I would just give your sister the card - they wont stress if you don't have photo ID anyway- there are plenty of people who don't have a driving license or passport (including myself until recently)
  • Thanks manda! I never thought if they dont actually have photo i.d...not everyone does! she hasnt got a driving licence but has a passport.
I can only try and give her my card and hope she can get in! if not i've lost £83 damnnn :(

"IMPORTANT: At the time of entry, you must present the credit card used to purchase your tickets, as well as a valid photo ID (such as a driver's license or passport). Your entire party must enter the venue at the same time. Tickets are non-transferable"

This was the message I have received with my ticket confirmation.

When we went to see Simply Red's last concert at the O2 with special fan seats in the front block (actually had central front row!!) and we did indeed need to have the card and photo id before they released the tickets.

I'm not sure how strict different venues will be about this event, you may be luckier with the MEN.

I appreciate cutting down on ticket touts but it does make life difficult if you buy for someone else, or your own circumstances change.

Welcome to my world.... Being a typical bloke and trying to get tickets whilst at work I succeeded twice but for different days (one set for me and the missus, the other for friends who wanted some).

Only then did I get the confirmation email and read the ticketless info and following on from a conversation with the lifeless customer service staff looks like I'm either £80 out of pocket or having to go twice in a matter of days.....

Understand I have no-one else but myself to blame but wondered if anyone knew of the legality of all of this and what the consequences would be if I were to claim back on my credit card?

If you can collect from the box office then you can always give the tickets to others to get in. That's what happened when we went to SR, we saw people collecting and giving the tickets to others to use.
I can't see them doing the tickets any other way, it would just clog up the entrance.
