Easter hat parade... for a 4 yr old boy?

hi,
Can any of you help me with ideas please?!
My son's reception class is having a easter parade next Friday, and they all need a 'bonnet'... and I'm trying to think of how to make one that's not too girly! So far I've bought some chicks & green crepe paper, and thats it! it's a competition, so needs to be good...

Thank you in advance!!

I made an Easter crown for my son when he was smaller, I just added lots of Easter stickers and sparkly bits (well he did :D) all over a length of card cut to the size of his head with points cut on the top.
The teachers loved the boy Easter bonnet :D

  • Hello there - we've just finished making ours. We used my sons yellow builders hat then glued a yellow bob the builder digger on the top and glued chocolate mini eggs in the digger bit and then yellow chicks, feathers and more mini eggs around the hat. We already had the hat and digger so was cheap to make and it looks great and very boyish and most of all we had lots of fun making it :)

I've heard some people 'cheat' and buy 'homemade' ones of Ebay! Clever people selling them! ;)

I [STRIKE]made[/STRIKE] helped to make this one for my son a couple of years ago. I used a charity shop fireman's helmet for the base and a torn plastic bag for the water.

This takes me back, I always made such girlie hats ... but I do remember that one year my brother made himself (well, probably with Mum's help!) a black top-hat; the very top circle of the hat was open and a fluffy bunny looked like he was trying to crawl out and escape :)

Hi, I made a easter hat for my daughter a few years back which was not a bonnet but great fun and she won the prize.

Get some yellow card and make a hat. put a peak on it like a ducks bill and add stick on or draw some eyes and ribbon to fasten it looked like a duck, wish I had a photo it was very simple to make. you can google paper hats for templates. I happened to have some dark yellow foam which I covered the peak/bill with.

have to say was v proud of myself
