I use Abbey National you can't use their branches as everything is done online or by post - but they don't charge for a business account which a lot of banks do.

Would Abbey require you to be on electoral roll to apply for an account? http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=312714"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Hey I use Abbey too, it's great free banking (well there are limits). Phone them up and ask all your questions as they are very helpful. I remember the interest rate being good (but I still move my business money into a savings account) and it's paid monthly. You post cheques in (or I think you can put them in with a paying in envelope at the ATM). My banking is all online so I don't really use the cheque facility. I don't know about the electoral roll, though it's always a good thing to be on for credit purposes.
As I said phone them up and ask they are very helpful. One problem is that the account may take a bit longer to set up that normal as the account is in high demand and I hear they are a bit behind (though that was a few months ago). I hear A & L have a good business account too.0
