have you tried the old style board for help about menu planning and cutting your shopping bills? its a great board and well worth a look!;)
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • Well, I've compiled a nice collect of budget but tasty recipies (some from the Old Style Board), so we will do our shopping list tonight for our Friday night shop - I'm thinking of making two copies, so we both have one on us and can't forget it!

Spent £20 in H&M yesterday, bought a lovely big scarf, a bangle and a new top (wearing it now). Not feeling too guilty as will be getting £15 work expenses paid to me and I do need a new top and scarf. I don't feel I need anything more now, so shouldn't need to buy myself any new clothes until at least the new year when I might buy a few bits in the sale.

Apart from that, just being careful, making my own lunches etc. Put loads of stuff on ebay last night and already have some people watching, so hopefully that will come to something.

I'm paid on Thursday (30th), so will do a more detailed update then.

Just thought I'd add (although not convinced anyone actually reads this, but is good DFW therapy for me to update it), cos I'm quite pleased, that I've just sold a CD on ebay (Buy It Now method) and have £6.99 in my ebay account to build on. Got loads more on there that will hopefully sell. I'm really quite chuffed.
  • I`m sure there are a few of us reading your diary. You`re doing very well so far. So keep it up! :T

    ;) I'm reading too.

I thought I had better say that as I know when I post to my diary thread it does sometimes feel like I'm all alone. (I know I'm not, I never said I was rational!)
    So I wanted to cheer you on.:j :j :j

  • I am enjoying your 'diary' SkintMonkey and am with you all the way.

Please do look at quidco http://www.quidco.com because it can really help boost you when you get some cash back from something like the AA or a home insurance for example. If you do *have* to spend, you might as well get some cash back for it where possible. :D

  • I had to hand over £20 today towards our Christmas Party which I was a bit annoyed about, as I'd forgotten and wasn't really prepared to part with it. But, I know it will be an excellent party!

Was paid today, but didn't see much of it as was swallowed up in my overdraft - looking forward to when I get my MBNA card and I will transfer some of my overdraft to that so I can put my two debts together and budget my debt repayments properly.

Can't stop checking my items on ebay, people are watching, but no more bids yet. I've got £6.50 in my paypal account at the moment which will go on my secret santa pressie (budget £5) - any more money I make I will transfer over into my current account to pay off some more of my card.

My husband and I went over our Christmas present budget again last night, and I think this year we are going to manage ok - this time we are being sensible and my hubby wont let me go over the top as I usually do!

Anyway, that is it for now. I've got £10 cash in my purse and I'm going to try and keep hold of all or at least some of it as much as possible. They only thing I'll let it go on is ebay postage.

    Take it easy.

PS When it comes to the day that I'm no longer in debt and skint, will I have to change my username? What would I change it to - NotSkintMonkey? InCreditMonkey? RedMonkey?

Well done SM on all the groundwork you are putting in to becoming DF. As you aim to have a family soon, perhaps you will call yourself something like MonkeyMa or MummyMonkey.
Obviously there would need to be a period of MonkeyBusiness first.:)
