ISA transfering previous ISA

I would like to transfer previous years' ISAs to Halifax 10/11.

However, I would also like to open a new Cash ISA with Santander for 10/ll as I haven't used my allowance for this year .

Is this possible or should put everything into Halifax?

You can do exactly as you've said, assuming when you say you haven't used your allowance for this year, you mean you haven't used any of your allowance this year :)

Yes. I haven't opened one this year. Somehow I always seem to leave it to the very last moment.

When you open the account doesn't matter, it's when you pay the money in that's significant.
