Hi Money peeps
Not sure if this is the right place to post this but hey ho.
I have sold some artwork to the states and they are going to pay me in dollars - does anyone know the best and most cost effective way to transfer $ to £?
thanks for reading!
Cheers

If you use dollars yourself, buy things in $ a lot, you could open a UDS A/c then use that A/c when you buy thing in $ and save on the exchange rates.
But since it's over £10k I'd guess you'd want to be able to spend it now... So the above maybe the better option.0 -
I have used http://www.xoom.com without any problems either.
However, it has been a while - so check out their rates in advance.0 -
Oanda.com give very good rates (better than xe when I last checked). You pay a flat fee of $25 for a bank wire regardless of the amount. If you visit the States you can get a US dollar cheque account, it takes about 10 minutes to open.0
