Just check out your tax liability too - surely receiving such a high discount on rent through employment would be brought to the attention of HMRC? Don't want you having more trouble to deal with so just saying.0

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

Thanks everyone. I have given my friend my emergency appointment at the CAB that I had for something that isnt as urgent as them, so they will be going in tomorrow morning. The final inspection is meant to happen tomorrow.
Things have worsened in that my friends husband got his payslip and they have deducted £900 for deposit. They also included an email where the husband agreed to them taking £100 a month out of his wages for a deposit, two months ago. They are saying that because he agreed to that, they are allowed to take the full deposit now he is leaving. They also called him unprofessional and are refusing to have any contact with him until face to face tomorrow. The landlord is agressive having shouted at my friends husband before, so I have advised him to call the police the moment the landlord raises his voice during the final inspection. I have never been so unfortunate as to come across such nasty people in my life and whats sad in all of this, is that they were all very good friends.
The employer is also stating that there are still 'discrepancies' regarding a financial account at work, not accounted for. However as they have taken him off the account, and are not telling him what they are, I wonder if they are attempting to set him up in some way. Funnily enough the business my friends husband managed for them, is a letting agency.0 -
oh and without them here to check with, I dont believe a formal notice was given no. I believe it was just emails. The dates were consistent with the full two months notice however.0
