Buying US shares in Apple advice please.

I am keen to buy some Apple stock, I have been thinking about it for about 3 years and never get round to it. I am still confident it would be a good longterm investment, and I am a keen follower of the company and it's products.

I currently don't hold any shares, just a fidelity stocks and shares ISA. So I have spoken to Redmayne Bentley and they advise opening a nominee account and filling out a W8 BEN form, then I can buy the stock with a 1.65% charge and a £12.50 - £20 one off.

Is there a better way to do this trade, I am also thinking having them in my wifes name will help on the tax front, but are there any other things I haven't covered here it terms of costs and hassles.

Thanks
