Spending £5.5k on self-drive Canada Holiday... which insurer?

I'm about to put a deposit down for a £5.5k Canada holiday. No skiing etc - self drive from Calgary to Jasper, then a train journey to Vancouver then an escourted trip to Victoria. Will be v nice!

BUT... what insurer? Canadian Affair tell me they won't cover in the event of a volcanic eruption? I looked at Aviva and they seem to imply they'll cover the flight then a max of £250 pp in this event, which would still leave me like £3k out of pocket? Or am I misunderstanding?

Any advice? Thanks in advance all! :D
