Me too! Tinned peaches and carnation milk were a feature of Sunday afternoon teatimes. I still love tinned peaches and evaporated milk- my family cannot understand this so I sometimes have it on my own - which is why I would have evap milk left over for rice pudding or choc sauce!0 -

My MIL always has a piece of bread and butter with peaches and carnation milk. Apparently that is what was given to her as a treat on a sunday after her sunday roast. I had never heard of that combination before. She assures me it is delicious.When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile

We make the jelly/carnation milk stuff (we call it pink stuff) differently in our house! Melt a packet of jelly (in a bowl over hot water), then whisk in a tin of evaporated milk, then leave it to set. It's seriously yummy! I might have to make some now :-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0

Slightly OT but....
When I was a newborn baby and was having trouble feeding, the hospital recommended that I was fed on watered-down Carnation. And that's exactly what I got. It's ever likely my teeth are suffering.....
Of course, I wouldn't recommend that anybody try this!!

I didn't even know you could still get carnation. If I had half a tin I'd probably just drink it, safe in the knowledge my mother can't tell me off anymore

I bought a tin from Aldi about 3 weeks ago. I hadn't seen it for ages. So couldn't resisist buying a tin.

My Dad calls it 'cat milk' so maybe you could give a dribble to your cat as a treat? My dad is pretty weird though so that may not be how it got that name!

Yep, I just cut them into squares and put them in a glass bowl over a pan of hot water, keep the water steaming but not boiling. Once the jelly has melted, CAREFULLY (lots of steam will come out of the pan) remove the bowl from on top of the pan. Whisk in a tin (the large 400ml ones, I think it's 400ml anyway!) of evaporated milk and leave to set.
