Cheshire to London train prices

Arh, I see it now. Thats even better than going to Crewe. It's an offpeak return for £22.50 BUT I can't see what times I am to return from London. I know it can be any day within a month.
If you click on that fare box on the left hand outward results the right hand return results will show you what trains it's valid on. It is fairly restricted.0 -

You can only return on trains leaving Euston at 10:46, 11:46 or 12:46 on that Friday (ignoring the 21:46 departure which doesn't get you to Hartford until after 7am the next morning).0 -
Best go with the Crewe then which is a more reasonable time but for the same price. If I leave this until nearer the time will these prices go up are should they stay the same ?0

The prices from Crewe will go up - they (the £8 and £11.50 fares) are quota controlled and will be withdrawn once that quota is sold. How quickly that will be - pass. Probably not very quickly - they are still available, outward anyway, for tomorrow.0 -
Thanks but I ended up booking from Crewe at £8 and London return for £11. I see the tickets from Hartford to Crewe are £3.50 but can I still buy them at this price at the station when I arrive (hartford to Crewe and Crewe to Hartford) at the same price as the website ? The reason I am not buying yet is because my train from London could be delayed and I wouldn't get my Crewe to Hartford train.0

The £3.50 fares are the same at the station as on the web
However Crewe is a penalty fare station so if you 'just' make the connection you would be penalised for buying the ticket on the train to Hartford. Better to buy it - as it's an anytime ticket it's valid on the next train if you miss the train you 'booked' on.0 -
Thanks. Appreciate all your help here. I would never have believed you would be able to get a train to London and back for under £20.0
