additional barclaycard

can anyone help

i have a barclaycard gold, credit limit £5,600 used balance £3650

leaving £1950 on there untouched

the £3650 is on their life of balance 2.9% so now that hte rate for lob has gone up i cant transfer any more balances.

so i have applied for a second barclaycard mastercard and they will transfer £1800 to it from my visa instead of giving me and additional credit limt they will share it out which is fine with me.

does anyone know whether i can get the 0% till march 06 their current offer or will i only be able to get 5.9%

help will be much appreciated

  • I don't know the current rules, but when I took out a second Barclaycard I got the 0% offer which was available at the time, so it is probably still the case.

  • I have also just been back on the phone and transferred the excess credit limit from my Visa to my Mastercard. "But that will leave you with nothing left to spend on the Visa" said the supervisor. "Why would I spend on it at 18.9% when the outstanding balance is on 2.9% for life?" I asked. Don't think she was amused, but I have just checked on line and the credit limit has been transferred. So that is another £500 to spend on 0% until August.
  • well i just ticked the button on the online account site and said i wanted a mastercard as well. They sent me a letter saying that i could have one but as i had onlyrecently increased my credit limit with my visa they could only share the amount between the two and i had to say hat i wanted my limit to be. it would be nice at 0% but as i only moved two months ago i think i will be happy with 5.9% as my other 0% are running out!
