Oh biscit, you're just not getting it. The most important stories this week for me have been:

    1. Myleene Klass called her baby some weird name
    2. Something to do with Libya
    3. Something about Japan

Thanks for alerting me to the fact that Lewis Collins looks older these days. I'd missed that. In fact, I think that shattering news might even knock that Japan stuff out of the top 3.

My irony meter is going "Beep beep beep! Error! Not sure!"

Thing is that compared to many of these stories, the fact Myleen Klass has named her baby is relatively eventful.
  • Biscit, whatever you do, don't ever go to Sky News website. They thrive on non-news.

I am sure it is where Private Eye got their newspaper spoofs ideas from.

I must have missed that crucial PR placement in the FT...

I am guessing they use them because it is cheaper to pay a pap £500 for a half-page photo of Kerry Katona at the McD's drive thru than pay a journo to research and write a decent article. I agree The Mail really has gone down-hill in recent years.

Don't forget about the girl from Big Brother who has split up with the bloke from Big Brother..... I've cried myself to sleep for the last 3 nights since reading that.

There was something about a nuclear power plant as well but not a mention of Homer Simpson anywhere so I stopped reading.

I think that the advent of 24 rolling news on TV and increased availability of any information you could want to see on the internet means that papers have to come up with 'news' that has not already been extensively covered elsewhere. If their photographer captures a photo that they can prevent from being released on the internet to put in their paper the next day, then that's what they will go with to differentiate themselves from the 'free' news elsewhere.

I think you are right. I just look on the web for news now, haven't bought a paper in ages. Shame the Times started charging, but I just have to go elsewhere. WHSmiths (aka the library) is good too.

Here's an example from the Daily Mail:

The main thrust of the story is that Lewis Collins was spotted looking older now than he did when he was in the professionals. THIRTY THREE YEARS AGO.

I mean so what? Of course he looks older! What's the point, I really don't get it.[/QUOTE]

Hey, I was in an episode of the professionals way back when! It was called "Lawson's Last Stand", I was one of the firefighters (a real firefighter). Guess I must be looking a lot older now too :D.

I still find it astonishing that Katie Price (aka - Jordan) and Kerry Katona, still manage to secure another brand new series of their life. Obviously someone must be watching that tripe, as they still secure the next episode. I just dont know anybody who does actually watch them or indeed give two hoots about their status.

So you don't want to know what Katie or Kerry did next  ?

if you combine the two of them together you would have a cocaine snorting hooker promoting cheap nasty frozen food.
