Hey all,
Basically, I have just rented a house through an estate agents the other day... Went to plug my new tv into the aerial but it doesn't have one? All it has is two sky aerials coming from the satellite dish.
I dont Plan on Getting sky installed at all as the tv has built in freeview which is good enough for me.
Should the landlord provide an aerial etc other than a sky one?

No, if an aerial was provided then they should repair or replace if there are problems but there is not necessary for them to provide an aerial to begin with.0

Unless it explicitly is included in the inventory, then LL doesn't need to provide an aerial.0

we're in exactly the same situation. Do you know if anyone has an old sky box that they could lend you? You can get the free to air channels (note this isn't freeview) via a box without subscription. We luckily took our box with us when we sold!"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510

So you now know that the LL does not have an obligation to provide a TV aerial but you have nothing to lose by making a polite request to the LL asking if they would be willing to have one installed.
Otherwise get a freesat box and use the dish.0 -
Get a second-hand Sky box off Ebay for £10 to £15 and you'll be able to watch all the FreeSat stuff FOC.
You could always have an aerial fitted if you're that bothered. Ask for permission, first.I am a mortgage broker. Aye. I'll call our letting agent later. Apparently the landlord is pretty nice. Cheers for the help all.0
