KillerWatt - I am neither agreeing or disagreeing with you - but you need to tell us about some of these far better and far cheaper devices, otherwise you just look like you're ranting!

It's an overpriced media player that is crippled beyond belief to the point where it barely deserves the accolade of being deemed what it is.
There is far superior kit out there costing nowhere near the money that Apple seem to quite sucessfully extract from some idiots, and they WILL play ANYTHING without requiring you to install bloatware on your PC or get your wallet out to pay for the latest "whatever" needed to play your chosen media.

I don't call £99 overpriced and the fact that you can rent movies from iTunes through it also and there are also rumours that Apple will use it to stream games as it runs on iOS like the iPhone and iPad. I have found it much more reliable at streaming than the PS3 so for £99 I think its well worth the money
Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!

For less money you can play ANY type of media file and stream it straight to the NMT from the net as well...so what?
Add to that the NMT is exactly what it should be (a network HDD and full on media player straight out of the box), plus all the apps you can run on them....starting to see the difference?
Of course if you are happy to pay for hardware that can't do half what the competition can manage for less money, don't let me stop you.
