Do i Stop Direct Debit for Minimum Payment?

Now that i pay off my purchases Credit Card in full every month (since joining this site),should i stop the Direct Debt from my current account?
I received my statement earlier this month,it informed me that the minimum payment would be £39.00,so i paid off the card in full on the same day statement arrived.
On checking my current account yesterday, the £39.00 had been debited,is this what should happen? i am thinking,if i did not spend anything on my card this month,i would be in credit by £39.00,and this is going to mess up my budgeting.
I have opened an new A&L current account, and when this is up and running,my intention is to only leave enough in that account to cover all my basic bills, then transfer the surplus out to my other accounts.
So do i cancel the Direct Debit, and pay it manually from my other accounts?
Or is it possible change the Direct Debit so that it will pay off the whole balance every month from one of my other accounts?
Either way,i will not have the minimum payment taken as well as the full payment,is this right?

best to set up your DD to take the full amount each month, otherwise the minimum amount AND the payment you make will come off the balance2p off is still 2p off!0

Thanks,i will try and set it up.
So,i take it's normal for both payments to be taken then?Sponsored by Tesco Clubcard Points !!0 -
yep as the DD wil always be taken regardless of any other payments and when they're made2p off is still 2p off!0

And, as something similar has happened to me, They do not pay back interest for being in credit!0
