Lloyds TSB "computer says no"

I have a Vantage account which pays a decent ish rate of interest if I deposit 1000 per month.

I pay in 500 permonth every 25th monthly which generally reaches the acount 3 days later. Also I pay in another 567 monthly on last day.

February of course - the money left on 25th and didnt arrive in LTSB vantage until 1 March. I phoned to discuss.

I actually didnt care about the February interest but was concerned that it started again in March

It took them 25 minutes of excuses to even get someone of alleged decision making abilities to talk to me - i was kept holding while a gobetween did her "you said.... but they said" business.

And then when I asked about possibly altering the figures for February due to the short month, it was

"the computers dont work like that...."

Clearly their bonuses are well deserved

I wouldnt mind a million for learning to say no

And it's the bank's fault why, exactly?

Didn't you realise that February only has 28 days?

26th and 27th Feb were Saturday and Sunday, so there is no way that a BACS payment on 25th could have arrived before the end of the month. This is your problem, not Lloyds TSB's problem.

Your money arrived on the schedule that you described with the vital addition of one word:

"I pay in 500 permonth every 25th monthly which generally reaches the acount 3 business days later."

Non-business days (weekends and bank holidays) are never counted in the BACS cycle.
