swalec advice needed

Hi All

Im with Swalec for both my gas and Electric and it just seems to be disappearign laeyl no matter how sort of energy efficient i am.

Both my meters are card meters (ie go to shop, put money on,come home and load it into meter in tokens etc) Anyway im putting on like £3 every 2 days and its bugging the hell out of me - we dont use drastic amounts of gas or electric. Gas is only realyl on to heat the water for baths and to give our little falt a blast of warmth in the evening, and electric runs the TV and computer mainly, all the lights are off if we are sat watching TV etc

Just wondered if anyone could give any advice - possibly about switchign suppliers etc to save soem cash.
Time to find me again

If you are 'only' putting in £3 every 2 days that is just over £500 a year. According to the Government the average family spend about £1,000 a year so you are being very careful with your gas and electricity. Especially as pre-payment tariffs are more expensive.

You might save a little money by changing supplier but I doubt if it will be huge amounts. Perhaps your best bet is to see what you will save with Ebico as they charge the same for all customers.
  • Just to make you aware Swalec (SSE) are changing there Prepayment tariffs to match there standard tariff so that you wont pay any excess for having them

  • Are you paying off a debt? If so, every time you top up your meter it deducts some money for the debt. There's less money for actual gas or electricity then.
