Flights to Reus booked....what now?

Hi all,
I've just impulse purchased flights for our family of 5 (2,7,9) to Reus in the first week of August - basically because they were really cheap and had no taxes.
Can anybody suggest where we go from there (please...not Salou). The budget is very limited and whenever I look at a hotel or apartment that seems reasonably priced, you put in 5 persons and the room either disappears or seems to inflate drastically in price.
I don't mind paying £100ish per night (which seems loads when you're just looking for a double room, but isn't for five) - but I would appreciate suggestions of a nice place to stay - pool, beach, corner shop...that's all we need. Oh, and if we don't have to hire a car, all the better.
Massively appreciated,
S13

Hi Del,
Thank you for this. We are indeed flying on the 2nd....good guess!
Hotel looks good....just a little crowded. Though I guess I'm delusional if I imagine anywhere will be quiet that week.

You will struggle to find something that cheap with good reviews
It wont be that crowded

Try Cambrils Park its a campsite, bungalows sleep 6 people.
Has 3 pools and is a short walk to the beach, all the major operators go like Thomson Al Fresco,
Eurocamp etc.
We are going beginning of June and have booked direct with the site as it was much cheaper, just
pay a deposit and the balance is paid on arrival. Paid about 800 euros for 11 nights so will be more
expensive in August but you have all the entertainment on your doorstep for the kids. They also have a sister
site called Sanguli which is closer to Salou.0 -
I can understand the 'please not Salou' comment.... BUT..... all of Salou isnt like 'that' bit.
There are the quieter areas, we first went about 4 years ago and I was dreading it ( hate lager louts and Brits on holiday ), but we found there is the more spanish part of town and we didnt even venture into lagerloutland.
Dont dismiss it totally.0 -
Hi sundin13,
Have you had a look on the private rentals websites? We always get a far better deal when we book privately, there are quite a few for costa dorada starting from as little as 500 euros per week!
Hope this helps0 -
We love PortAventura (big theme park near Salou- used to be Universal Studios) and the area around. The beaches are beautiful and very clean, there's a lovely monastery in the hills and Barcelona is only an hour or so for a daytrip. Cambrils is really pretty. The kids love Salou just because it's so busy and mad. We gave them a choice for this year of PortAventura or Florida Disney and they took ages to decide. Went for Disney eventually but it was close.0

Hi, I did try this as it would be my first choice but it seems they always have a weekend changeover and we're going Tuesday to Tuesday.
Thanks everyone for the ideas
